focused on alignment, no clue about how to get results,
This review is from: Getting the Right Things Done: A Leader's Guide to Planning and Execution (Paperback)
I have read a Turkish translation.
I have tried to implement ideas presented in the book in my factory. It was difficult to convince and involve people around but I preferred a "my way or highway" method to make things happen. Result was good, we have improved our flow, on time full shipment rate. There was a better alignment than ever between satellite factory and headquarter. This was my first touch to A3 method and I liked it. It requires a real dicipline to follow the method. Frankly in my personal business career I am trying to make my mind up for a certain problem but the display is not an A3 anyway. Having KPI's are great, assessing performance by KPI's are easy but it is not enough to have KPI's to get the results. The book has no point about "how to get result", it is all about "how to align" I wish I was aware of The Goal at that moment in time, then I would have a better chance to get better and sooner results. |
